Spring 2016 Masters Message
Welcome to spring time and warm weather. We’ve had a great first quarter of 2016 with very successful events such as the Shirley Martel Memorial Scholarship Banquet held on January 26, 2016 and the Ye Old Table Lodge held on March 26, 2016. Both events were extremely successful with the attendance at the table lodge at close to 100. The “all you can eat” breakfasts are still in full swing and doing well. More recently, we’ve had the traffic detail at the Plainfield “Haul of Fame” and some young ladies from the local scouting group helped out at one of the breakfasts to earn a scouting patch. Visitations at the other 3 District 9A lodges and one lodge from District 8A (Somerset- St. James Lodge 34) have been made with plans on visiting other district 8 lodges and re-visiting our sister lodges as time permits. There was an excellent turn out at the District 9 Blue Lodge Council meeting at Putnam Lodge 46 in South Woodstock where on April 29, WB Chris Mayhew was surprised and honored with the presentation of a Pierpont Edwards medal in bronze. Congratulations Chris!
As we enter May, we are gearing up for a Fellow Craft Degree and Scholarship Interviews. In June, we’ll have our regular stated communication on June 7 and a Master Mason Degree on Saturday June 18. In July, a group will head out to Boston to visit The Freedom Trail, Faneuil Hall and the Green Dragon. In August we will take tours at local Rhode Island Breweries and have our annual breakfast and march in the VJ Day Parade.
In the next couple of weeks we will be planning a meeting to design T-Shirts that the members will wear at Moosup Lodge 113 events like ChIP Events and Traffic detail at the Haul of Fame.
At this time, all except one rental space are occupied and the building corporation is actively seeking a renter for that last space.
Through the planning of the building corporation and Past Masters, finances at Moosup Lodge 113 haven’t been better in years. We are even talking about sprucing up the dining hall to make it more rentable for events.
If you are not on my weekly email blast list, please email me at
sand I’ll add you to the email lists.
In closing, I wish you a great spring and early summer.

Welcome to the Moosup Lodge website.
As Connecticut Freemasons we embrace the tenets of Friendship, Morality and Brotherly Love. We do this by using the teachings of Freemasonry to better ourselves, our community and each other. At our lodge we make Masons and here at our website we show you our history, activities and schedule of future events.
The Masonic Fraternity does not invite anyone to become a member, instead we wait patiently for the special man to knock on our door and seek admittance. Perhaps your visit here is that "knock" on our outer door
