 2016 Autumn Masters Message

Brethren,

Welcome to Autumn 2016. We’ve had a great 2016 so far, starting with very successful events such as the Shirley Martel Memorial Scholarship Banquet held on January 26, 2016, the Ye Old Table Lodge held on March 26, 2016, our annual spring and Autumn traffic detail at the Haul of Fame swap meet, the 2016 VJ-Day Parade, and a brewery/pub crawl as well as volunteering at Moriah Lodge 15's Annual Down East Maine Table Lodge in September.

Plans are already underway to start selling tickets to the 2017 Shirley Martel Memorial Scholarship Banquet scheduled for January 21, 2017.

As we get closer to December, we anxiously await the advancement of our 2 brother Fellowcrafts to Master Mason.

The T-Shirts designs are set and we are currently accepting orders for the shirts that the members will wear at Moosup Lodge 113 events like ChIP Events and Traffic detail at the Haul of Fame. Lodge event shirts are dark blue short sleeved with gold lettering and the traffic detail shirts are safety green long sleeved shirts. Please see the order sheet in the kitchen at the lodge building to place your pre-paid order.

At this time, all rental spaces are occupied. Very good news!

Through the planning of the building corporation and Past Masters, finances at Moosup Lodge 113 haven’t been better in years. We are still talking about sprucing up the dining hall to make it more rentable for events. More financial discussions will be needed before we can embark on that project.

We are currently taking food donations for both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner. Giving is what we do as Masons. Gift card donations for the family will also being accepted. Know that any food item will help! It doesn't have to be holiday related to do good or be appreciated.

If you are not on my weekly email blast list, please email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and I’ll add you to the email lists. I share activity dates so if your lodge has an activity or function, let me know. My email blast goes out to over 150 Masons in more than 5 districts and 3 states and I'm glad to include everyone that would read my words and want to advertise their lodge activities.

In closing, I want to thank the officers and membership for voting me in as Master back in December and contributing so much to make this another sucessfull year at Moosup Lodge 113.

I wish you a wonderful and beautiful Autumn as well as a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in 2017. I'll remain very active within my lodge as the years go by and who knows? I may end up back in the East if needed to serve.

Fraternally

RW Jim Verge

As Connecticut Freemasons we embrace the tenets of Friendship, Morality and Brotherly Love. We do this by using the teachings of Freemasonry to better ourselves, our community and each other. At our lodge we make Masons and here at our website we show you our history, activities and schedule of future events.

The Masonic Fraternity does not invite anyone to become a member, instead we wait patiently for the special man to knock on our door and seek admittance. Perhaps your visit here is that "knock" on our outer door
